Many of my business leader clients feel that they are overweight and they want to lose a couple of kilos or pounds. They are dreaming of their perfect life with the perfect weight, the perfect dress that they’re gonna wear and their perfect stress free life that they’re going to have when they have the ideal weight.
They think about weight loss all the time and most of them have tried dieting, at least five different diets. And they get no results, they’re just bouncing up and down the scales, they are constantly hungry or they are constantly feeling bad because they are conscious of everything that they put in their mouth.
And they ask me if it’s even possible to lose weight without doing this specific type of dieting and I tell them, yes it is, but first we have to look at:
Have you ever had a vacation where you were hoping for some rest but it didn’t turn out that way.
Instead of relaxing you got it all spoiled by all the obligations that you had on your mind. Things that you couldn’t stop yourself doing because you thought that they just had to get done, and so you couldn’t control yourself. I bet you have.
Let me tell you about my summer. We have a summer house by the coast and there is a very nice beach very close to it where you can just walk down and take a swim in the ocean. I love this place, it’s so soothing and relaxing to be here. That moment when I get out of the car in the parking lot I feel my shoulders just totally relax. It’s definitely my happy place.
Today I want to talk about something that’s really close to my heart. It’s the question; Why do so many people get stressed out and even get sick from it?
Even though we know so much there are still so many solutions out there. There are literally endless solutions out there, but it’s still the fastest growing disease maker in the world right now.
When you’re in a stressed out state, it’s often extremely difficult to switch your thinking and find ways to de-stress. And I know how it feels…
You don’t know what to do
You don’t know where to even begin
And the more stressed you are, the harder it is to think clearly……
If you’re a business leader who travels a lot just like me, then you’ll know just how stressful it can sometimes feel. Something as simple as being away from your normal business location can wear you out and make you even more tired than normal.
I do an awful lot of travelling around the world to see many of my clients. But also to attend speaking events and for my own self development too. I’m a firm believer you have to invest in yourself if you want to teach others what you know.
Sometimes it can feel like stress has the upper hand on us. If you’re a business leader stress is something that you’re going to come up against at times. But there are some simple and easy ways to harness stress and keep it under control. Now, if you know me, I’m always talking about treating stress on a deeper level. There’s no such thing as a ‘quick fix’.
But today, I’d love to share with you 3 quick tips to use as a temporary fix when you’re in moments of stress. Just remember, these tips won’t cure stress 100% but they will give you a much needed sense of relief.
