Today I want to talk about something that’s really close to my heart. It’s the question; Why do so many people get stressed out and even get sick from it?
Even though we know so much there are still so many solutions out there. There are literally endless solutions out there, but it’s still the fastest growing disease maker in the world right now.
Three Tips to Get Enough Quality Sleep
Being a business leader means needing to be productive and being productive means that you need to make sure you’re getting enough sleep. I’m sure you’ve struggled in the past with getting a full night’s sleep. And even if you think you’re getting a full night’s sleep, your brain might still be switched on.
That leaves you in a bit of a predicament…because you aren’t really getting the ‘quality’ sleep you need as a business leader.
When you’re in a stressed out state, it’s often extremely difficult to switch your thinking and find ways to de-stress. And I know how it feels…
You don’t know what to do
You don’t know where to even begin
And the more stressed you are, the harder it is to think clearly……
If you’re a business leader who travels a lot just like me, then you’ll know just how stressful it can sometimes feel. Something as simple as being away from your normal business location can wear you out and make you even more tired than normal.
I do an awful lot of travelling around the world to see many of my clients. But also to attend speaking events and for my own self development too. I’m a firm believer you have to invest in yourself if you want to teach others what you know.
Time. Our most valuable resource. Something that ticks away day after day. But unlike money or materialistic items, we can’t buy more time.
We’ve all got the same amount of time in a day -24 hours. No one has more and you don’t have less. It’s equal. But it all comes down to prioritising your time. If you ever find yourself saying ‘I don’t have the time to look after myself or I can’t, I have to work all the time’, then I’ve written this with you in mind. If you’re not taking ownership of your time, somebody else will.
Sometimes it can feel like stress has the upper hand on us. If you’re a business leader stress is something that you’re going to come up against at times. But there are some simple and easy ways to harness stress and keep it under control. Now, if you know me, I’m always talking about treating stress on a deeper level. There’s no such thing as a ‘quick fix’.
But today, I’d love to share with you 3 quick tips to use as a temporary fix when you’re in moments of stress. Just remember, these tips won’t cure stress 100% but they will give you a much needed sense of relief.
Let’s take a look at my three best tips…
If you think you’ve got a bad or unhealthy lifestyle, let me tell you that you’re not alone.
Not just right here in this moment, but winding the clocks back.
The other day I came across an 18th century article written by a medical doctor called Abraham Back. He was friends with the world famous Swedish Botanist; Carl Linnaeus, the guy who systematised the whole plant ecosystem. I’m sure you’ve read about him in school.
Before I start…yes….I know what you’re thinking.
‘Why is Dr Annika talking about new year’s resolutions in March?
Well, there’s a very good reason.
I want to start by asking you a question.
– Stressed Out?
– Don’t know where to start to reduce your stress?
These are all common challenges my clients face.
But you might have different questions that I haven’t covered on my blog just yet. So today’s blog is going to be a little different.
If you’re stressed out, maxed out or on the verge of burnout, then this is for you.
I want to share with you a system I’ve found that’s helped me and hundreds of my clients combat stress and generally making the whole process of living a relaxed life much easier.
